Jim Rhinehart was instrumental in spreading the game of fastpitch softball throughout the state of Maryland and adjoining states. With over 20 years coaching pitchers and working with countless numbers of pitchers of all ages, Jim's reputation as a top pitching coach grew. Jim worked with the Maryland STARS pitchers in a weekly clinic for over 5 years. His demeanor and love of the game drove pitchers to go the extra steps to excel. Jim passed away late in 2004 after a short battle with cancer. His presence is greatly missed by those he worked with, coaxed on, pushed to new levels, and genuinely loved. We will always remember him as a gentleman, teacher, coach, and friend.
