The Maryland Stars program has really showed me what softball is all about. By being able to play with the Stars it has allowed me to set a solid foundation for not only the sport but for the rest of my life as well. I feel that through all the instruction that I have received over the past four years and exposure I have had it has helped me a lot into being able to continue my future in the sport. Not only has it helped me physically but it has also been a great experience in shaping my personality and character. I learned so much about myself and had the opportunity to meet hundreds of great people. The parents, coaches, and players that I have been able get to know will be the things I remember the most throughout this whole experience.

When I was fourteen years old and made Mr. Glen’s team I was honored to now be apart of a high class organization. I framed my letter that I received when I was told I made the team. I will never forget the memories that I have created over the past four years. I plan to continue playing for the organization for many years to come. The Maryland Stars has been one great experience for me and I wish more people could be given the chance to play for such a high-quality program. People ask me why I travel to Maryland to play softball, well that is because the Maryland Stars are home to me. This has truly been the best experience in my life and one that I will never forget. I am the successful softball player that I am today thanks to the Maryland Stars program!

Describe your most memorable moment of playing softball. (1 paragraph)
My most memorable moment of playing softball was last spring during my high school season in the District championship game. All along our team was considered the underdog, but we felt we had something to prove. We were the home team that night playing against the power house Central Dauphin. It was the top of the 7th and the score was tied 1-1. Defensively we were in a jam. I remember there was an error committed and our centerfielder ended up with the ball. The runner on third broke for home and the throw coming from the centerfielder was a few feet up and off the third base line. I made a jumping catch and somehow managed to keep control and tag the runner out for the third out. The play turned the whole game around. In the bottom of the 7th we scored which was the end of the game. We were the first team ever out of York county to win a District championship. I have never felt so proud in my life or have played with so much emotion in my life. It was an ultimate feeling and one that I will never forget.

Playing in the Maryland Stars program has meant a lot to me. Is has made me a more competitive player with all the skills I have learned. Is has made me a better player all around and has showed me great sportsmanship among teammates. Is has helped me support my team and work even harder to get to the teams and my goals one the field. The people has made me a better person in this organization with their great attitudes 24/7 and how much dedication they have to help one another in this organization to make them a better ball player.

Describe your most memorable moment of playing softball. (1 paragraph)
My most memorable moment in softball would be when I was in 5th grade and I won my first championship. We were 15-1 for our record and our one loss was against St. John's who was 16-0/undefeated. We all didn't think we had a chance and was sitting aroundeating ice cream before the game while the other team did drills and training. We were up 8-3 in the 5th inning and knew we could win. That moment right there was the first time we came together as a team and helped each other out to win the game and to one another. We ended up winning the game 8-5. It was the best feeling in the world to be champions and also the first champions in softball at St. Andrew's school. I'll never forget being the first softball team in that school to win and also win my first championship.

Playing for the Maryland STARS for the past three years has been one of the best experiences of my life. Not only did it give me the chance to do something I love year round but it also gave me the opportunity to travel and meet all new people. I have met some of my closest friends through the STARS program with whom I hop to keep in close contact for years to come.

his program has also allowed me to find a great college, York College of PA, to further my education and my softball playing career.

Describe your most memorable moment of playing softball. (1 paragraph)
As a STAR one of my most memorable moments was down in Ft. Lauderdale for Nationals when as a team we went on an airport tour to look for alligators. Although we didn’t see any because it was the middle of the day and aside from the fact that there were bugs smasking your face as we rode it was a great team bonding experience and a whole lot of fun.

I joined the Maryland Stars program 3 years ago as a sophomore in high school with the hopes of finding a fun, hardworking team I could be a part of. Previously, I had played on several teams within various organizations, all of which turned out to be very disappointing seasons. However, the Maryland Stars was different, it was a rewarding experience that enabled me to further my skills both on the field and in life itself.

It was an honor to be a part of such a well known and respected organization. I loved being a part of the team that played with such enthusiasm and energy that even when tournaments didn’t end in our favor, I could hold my head high and be proud. I will miss being able to walk out onto the field representing the Maryland Stars, and I will never forget my years playing with them.

Describe your most memorable moment of playing softball. (1 paragraph)

I don’t really have one moment of playing softball that stands out more then any other. Truthfully, what I remember the most after all these years, most people p rob ably wouldn’t even consider to be worthy of remembering, yet to me it is. It wasn’t a fantastic play that I made, or a game winning hit in the bottom of the 7 th with two outs, I was just playing ball in a college showcase tournament. The thing is, that the temperature was below freezing (or at least that’s what it felt like) and it was windy. I was out there playing in layers of underarmor, sweats, and a winter hat, along with the rest of my team. It hurt to hit the ball, and yet we still swung with all our might, enduring the numbing, needle-prickling sensation that would travel up our entire arm. We continued to play because we loved the game, we were dedicated and determined. I was told I was crazy to play in that weather, but that didn’t matter. It was cold, and every bone in my body was stiff and sore, but I wanted to play, and so I did.
