The Maryland STARS Student-Athlete Scholarship is awarded to Maryland STARS players upon graduation from high school and entry into an accredited 2 or 4 year institution of higher learning.

Eligibility: To be eligible to receive the Maryland STARS Student-Athlete Scholarship, all applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. played for the Maryland STARS for at least 2 consecutive and complete seasons including the season of the application.
2. must be in good standing with the Maryland STARS as of the award date
3. maintained a 3.25 cumulative GPA throughout High School been accepted into a 2- or 4-year program at an accredited institution of higher learning.
4. complete a service project as assigned by the Maryland STARS – must be completed prior to the award of the scholarship.
5. write a one-page essay about what the player got out of playing in the Maryland STARS program and send a soft copy of it to the webmaster
6. a copy of their high school transcripts
7. complete the application and return a soft copy of it and a current picture to the webmaster
Number and amount of the scholarships given:
1. dependent upon the number of applicants,
2. number of seasons the applicants played for the Maryland STARS
3. the amount of the funds reserved solely for the purpose of the scholarship fund. 
Process: Eligible Maryland STARS players must submit an application no later than 7/1 of their high school graduating year. With their completed application the following must be included:
1. one-page essay about what the player received by playing for the Maryland STARS (see application form),
2. copy of school transcripts showing cumulative high school GPA,
3.
SAT or ACT scores,
4. documentation showing acceptance into the institution of higher learning,
5. current digital photograph of the player
Award: The scholarships shall be awarded on or about 8/15 of each year. |
